The Workers on the Rings of Orbis
When knudniks from other planets arrive at the New Arrival Processing Center they are greeted by sculptures cut from smokey blue crystals taller than the Keepers. They peer down at them from cavities carved into the sloped, stone walls and melodic notes dampen the clamor of the busy port. Silky sweet smells, laden with alien pollen from flowered plants, cascade down the towering walls and most knudniks just stare in awe.
The Rings of Orbis are everything they ever imagined and more. But all of these wonders are not for them. They are knudniks, assigned to work for their keep and sometimes that work rule can last forever.
Knudniks, as the Citizens call them, come from all corners of the universe .
This is a cruel device that some Citizens use to feed their knudniks. It can last up to an entire phase and this forbidden off ring material is easy for the Citizens to get.
